Kids will have so many places to hide out on the Hide & Seek playground. This large structure offers play above and below deck. At the ground level they have two different PlayCounters with bowls for nature exploration, role playing, or just about anything they can think of. On the other side of the structure, sits a BigWheel mounted on a wall next to the Xylophone. One kid can create a tune for the other while they drive. Once kids want to move up higher, there are so many access points, they’ll play for hours trying them all out. The easiest is the Access Deck with dual sloped rails. Next to that is a set of three PlayPod Pedestals leading up to the deck. To get up closer to the slides, they can take the Column Climber or the Side-By-Side Climber on the other side. For kids that want to start where the action is, they can use the Rock Climbers to get to the middle deck or use the Exploratory Climber that leads between the two Big Tube Tunnels. The two Solo Chute Slides offer a fast way to the ground. But for those that want to stay above it all, the Wobble Bridge can be danced back and forth over stopping only to admire the view out of the Wave Panel with its round window.
When choosing a playground it is important to consider where the components have come from. Conditioned wood or recycled metal posts are both opportunities to take part in environmental stewardship. Wood was once a staple of playground design, but as time has continued, it has become less common. But, wood and natural materials make for natural learning environments that can be important for children’s development. Several teaching methods use nature and natural tools as ways to reach children. On the other hand, the recycled metal used comes from items that would otherwise rust away in dumps. The recycled plastic comes from specifically milk jugs. As Americans, we tend to drink a large amount of milk every day. This results in millions of used milk contains every year. Even if the play set purchased only uses a few thousand of those milk jugs, its that many more that didn’t end up in a landfill. Your playground purchase can be part of the solution that limits waste.
