Wheelchair Accessible Safety Surfacing
Safety surfacing is important for every playground, and it is also key to ensuring ADA accessibility. While loose fill materials like wood and rubber mulch can be used in conjunction with ramps to ensure accessibility and wheelchairs and strollers, they are not the most ADA friendly surfaces. Solid surfaces like poured in place rubber, artificial grass, and rubber tiles make much better surfacing options for playgrounds that will frequented by guests in wheelchairs.
