Sail the seas of play on the Pirate Tower! Featuring one of the most iconic portions of a pirate ship, the crow’s nest, children will be able to recognize the shape instantly from movie, cartoons, and story books. Designed with imaginative play in mind, children will spend hours seeking out new islands and buried treasure on their “ship” of the oceans. Although the nets appear to be draped haphazardly, there are specific play areas upon closer inspection. On opposing sides, the classic grid like netting leading to a squared “deck” of ropes makes for a simple ascent. On the remaining sides, there are two curtains of ropes that create a cradle for children to relax in.
Encouraging multiple forms of development in children, the Pirate Tower boasts more than physical benefits. As with most imagination stimulating play equipment, the tower lends itself to social interaction. Children will happily work together as they create a narrative to their journey and help one another achieve their “goal” of the day. Constructed out of steel and polyester, this climber is sure to last. The center-most post is an 8-inch diameter steel post with a cap to keep the elements out. From the central post four additional support arms jut out. Attaching themselves to the arms are eight grids of 16mm ropes connected with high-density polyethylene fasteners. The ropes themselves are made up of 6 strands of steel and an inner fiber that are then wrapped in a cocoon of polyester fibers. The outside of the cord is then coated in a latex bonding agent. Adding the latex strengthens the rope from abrasions.
